Sofie 3-1
Trying out my new 2 strobe setup.
My more regular post-production on this one, to view a more daring approach: click here
Model is my gorgeous wife Sofie.
Trying to put one strobe through a glass door (as a gigantic softbox) camera right and another one bare camera left as hairlight and intentional flare
Lien 3
Not my usual post processing but I thought I’d try something new for a change.
Model is Lien at photography class a few weeks ago.
Setup was a large softbox overhead to camera right, a smaller one from below camera left and a gridded snoot camera left as hair light.
Transform
Zach Arias pours out his heart at a guest post on Scott Kelby’s blog. This short film really hits the crucial, sensitive issues that each serious photographer eventually bumps into and you can either let it break you, or make you stronger.
I’ve been following Zach’s blog since recently and this guy really inspires me with the way he combines his life with his passion. So if you haven’t already subscribed to his blog, I suggest you do it now and do yourself a favor.
All my respect to Zach for bringing us this video and showing us his deepest thoughts.
Els
Taken at the last portrait session we had in class. Els is being her expressive self again and I gave her a lovely pink scarf to play with. Hard black and white processing because I like that
Can’t decide wich one of these I prefer…
Good thing lightroom has those “virtual copy”-thingies…
Setup for this:
Large softbox camera right as key light
Smaller softbox camera left as fill.
Gridded strobe behind the model to the left for hair light
Split toning on the next one to create color contrast between the green background, the warm skin and the vivid scarf.
And then there is this, a little harder on the post production but still cool in his own way…
I’m interested to see which one you guys prefer so hit the poll and let me know!

Lien 2
Another one of Lien after her make-up-change. This one seems to bring her eyes out more.
Large softbox camera left and same size softbox camera right. 2 striplights on background.
Fania
Fun with Fania in what I think is our last portrait session of this year.
She’s so easy to work with
Large softbox above camera and smaller softbox below aimed upwards. Ratio of 2/1.
Griet
Griet was so proud that she got her make-up done by make-up artist that she wanted to have a her picture taken, now when a model offers to have her picture taken I just take the oportunity with both hands and go for it. Turns out pretty well I think
Large softbox overhead at f10 and smaller softbox below model for fill at f9.
Postprocessing in Lightroom & Photoshop
Ellen
One of our classmates brought in a couple of models for us to play with during our portrait sessions in class. He also brought his girlfriend along who happens to be a great make-up artist.
Large softbox camera right, smaller softbox camera left. Twe striplight softboxes on either side behind her to light up the white backdrop.
Lien
One of our classmates brought in a couple of models for us to play with during our portrait sessions in class. He also brought his girlfriend along who happens to be a great make-up artist.
Large softbox camera right up high, as seen by the reflection in her eye. Smaller softbox below model’s face on camera axis for fill.
Els 3
Trying for some “Tough chick with huge lense”-magic here. You decide how much we succeeded..
Large softbox camera right, just off-frame. Small softbox on the far left, on high, for hair light and separation.
Nico
My first time with Nico and I have to say he is an easy model to work with, give him clues all over the place and he’ll execute with asking questions.
Medium softbox camera right and medium softbox camera left far behind me for fill. Gridded strobe on backdrop for separation.
