Very sturdy, professional and comfortable LowePro camera/laptop-backpack with space for a 17″ laptop. The backpack offers room for 1 body + battery-grip with a 70-200mm lens + extra space for at least 3 other lenses and some accessories. A large top compartment gives you added space for more equipment or various other items you would need when travelling around like lunch, bottle of water, map, rope, …
There is a detachable laptopsleeve for extra protection of your computer. This sleeve has a built in sunscreen which you can flip open to keep a clear view of your screen, in broad daylight.
It’s possible to attach a small to normal tripod on the front of the backpack with little effort, ideal if you’re going hiking and you want to bring your tripod for some landscape shots.
The backpack is water-resistant up to normal rain, but for even better protection it’s also equipped with a built in rain-cover which covers the entire backpack, so you don’t have to worry about your equipment getting wet.
Via the side-zipper you can access your camera without having to take of the backpack. This works very easy as soon as you got the hang of it.
The backpack comes fully equiped with a 5-point adjustment system for the shoulder straps or the hip-straps so you can distribute the weight as you like best.

I was post-processing some of my test shots with the Canon 50mm 1.8 when I discovered this beauty. As always I tried out different settings but I can’t decide which one I prefer. Let me know what you think.

Image was shot with one Speedlight 430 EXII camera right bounced at 1/16 into a white wall.
New Addition
After being impressed by the superb quality of the Canon 50mm EF 1.8 as a portrait lens for the 100th time, I thought, what the heck, I’m gettin’ me one!
So I did, and man this lens is amazing, the DOF on 1.8 really blows me away and the great bokeh makes my other lens almost superfluous.
Sooo… what’s the first thing to do when you get a new toy? … Right…, so here they are:
I know the focus is off just a tad (it’s on the eyebrow in stead of the iris), which is an obvious mistake with this lens, but I still like how the image turned out.
Canon EOS 40D Firmware
Canon heeft een nieuwe versie vrijgegeven van de firmware voor de 40D. Voor zij die niet weten wat firmware is even een korte uitleg:
Firmware is het stukje software dat op je digitale toestel staat dat ervoor zorgt dat het draait. Je kan het in elk digitaal apparaat terugvinden. Dit kan zo geavanceerd zijn als de software die op je digitale camera staat maar ook zo eenvoudig als het programma dat ervoor zorgt dat je digitaal horloge werkt.
Het zal niet direct gebeuren dat de software van je horloge zal moeten worden geupdate, daar is het veel te eenvoudig voor, maar voor gecompliceerdere apparaten zoals een digitale camera kan dit wel eens voorvallen. Deze updates zijn altijd sterk aan te raden, ook al lossen ze niet direct een probleem op waar je zelf mee geconfronteerd wordt. Deze release van Canon lost enkel een paar kleine puntjes op maar desalniettemin kan het wel eens handig zijn. Vooral het laatste puntje lijkt me vrij handig om te hebben.
Fixes a malfunction that in rare occurrence causes a low battery indication to be displayed when using the EF 85mm F1.2L II USM lens. Depending on the battery check timing of the camera, the battery level displayed on the camera’s LCD data panel may shows Battery will be exhausted soon or Battery must be recharged, even though the battery capacity is sufficient. Fixes a malfunction that in rare occurrence causes an Err 06 Self Cleaning Sensor malfunction to appear on the camera’s LCD monitor and LCD data panel, even when the Self Cleaning Sensor Unit is operating normally. This message may appear depending on the timing of when the camera is switch to the ON position. Fixes a malfunction that prevents correct colors from being printed when direct printing. RAW images captured using the camera’s custom Picture Styles (Emerald, etc.), which have been downloaded from Canon’s Web site and registered under User Def. 2 or User Def. 3. Modifies the level of subject brightness that causes the AF-assist beam to fire when using an external Speedlite. Enables an external flash connected to the camera’s synchro terminal to fire even when the camera’s built-in flash is popped up.

DIY Gelled Snoot
Because I wanted to do the classic smoke-shot I was in need of cheap snoot that would fit on my Speedlight 430EX or my Vivitar 285H. Since DIY is mostly the cheapest way to get something done, I browsed the net for a nice tutorial on HOW to build one.
